/*ABOUT*/

I consider myself a jack of all trades, master of some; It's good to be flexible. I occasionally get separation anxiety when away from my coffee. I can do an admirable impression of a stunned deer. I secretly enjoy reading the dictionary. Oh, and I'm pretty darn good at web development too.

I have recently obtained my bachelors degree in Web Design and Interactive Media at the Art Institute of California- San Diego. Before that I was a line cook, a pastry chef and, for a short while, a really bad waitress. I loved to cook, creating new recipes and rethinking old ones had served as a great creative outlet, but the intellectual challenge just wasn't there. That is what drew me to web development in the first place, and what I've come to love so much about it, it is challenging. It too requires creativity, but unlike baking or wielding a saute pan, it also demands creative problem solving, logic, and abstract thinking, offering up a an endless source of creative and intellectual intrigue to keep my interest piqued.

While coding and working with databases are my favorite [professional] things to do, I rather enjoy design work, video editing, motion graphics, and dvd authoring. I also dig photography, fine art, cooking, knitting, carpentry, upholstery, sewing, decorating, bike communting, etc,etc. The short of it is, I love to create, to build, to be productive, and I'm always looking for opportunities to learn something new. That said, I have no problem wasting away my own time getting my money's worth out of my Netflix account, entering an alternate reality (provided by Sony Playstation), or consuming a bit of brain candy (a non-educational book).
